I haven't been blogging for a whole month now as i'm busy with college work, mainly my Final Year Project which is a remote control software titled "PC Remote Access System". On to Formula 1 : today's race at the Silverstone circuit was the most awesome race i've seen this season. With so many incidents and overtaking maneuvers, you'd definitely love to see more of this kind of action in the 5 remaining races. One of the most spectacular overtaking move was done by Rubens Barrichello who overtook the McLaren of Kimi Raikkonen who seemed to broken under pressure by Rubens.
There were two safety cars deployed, one was for some parts of bodywork on David Coulthard's McLaren flying off onto the track. David had to pit during the safety car period but lost a lot of time in the pits. Then there was the second safety being deployed because of some crazy lunatic, dressed in a kilt, apparently protesting something if i'm not mistaken, with signs around his neck where he ran on to the track around lap 11. That was probably the most bizarre thing that happened this season. Luckily, no one was injured as the stewards overpowered him and led him away. But i'm sure he did cause some distractions to the drivers.
At the end of the day, Rubens who started on pole, losing out to Jarno Trulli and Raikkonen in the early stages of the grand prix, ended up being the winner of the Silverstone Grand Prix in Britain. Second place goes to Juan Pablo Montoya while third place goes to Kimi Raikkonen who made some mistakes that costed him quite dearly.
Championship leader Michael Schumacher who was down from 12-13th place after the second safety car ended up in 4th place after being stuck behind a Renault of Jarno Trulli for quite a while. Looking at the drivers championship point of view, Michael is still ahead of Kimi Raikkonen but Kimi is now a bit closer (by one point only) to Michael. The next 5 races will decide this year's world champion and it's the fight to the finish for the championship contenders!
