Indianapolis Grand Prix highlights

The Indianapolis Grand Prix was an awesome race packed with lots of incidents and action! As the rain starts falling down, the Bridgestone runners gained the upper hand against rival teams running on Michelin tires.

The one man who made the most out of this situation is none other than Michael Schumacher who drove a spectacular race in overall after having a bad qualifying Saturday, it was surely an unexpected win for Michael. During the first few laps, there was an incident involving Rubens Barrichello and Juan Pablo Montoya where they touched and Barrichello went into the gravel trap, leaving him out of the race at such an early start.

Later on, Montoya was given a stop and go penalty for the incident and i honestly think he deserved it for doing that to Barrichello. I mean, he may be an aggressive driver but getting so close and not giving enough room for the other party is too much IMHO. If Barrichello was still around, he could have at least push up Ferrari's Constructors points and now they are ahead by a mere 3 points in the Constructors Championship against second place BMW Williams.

Kimi Raikkonen again drove a superb race despite being on Michelin tires and he just kept his championship hopes alive by finishing in second. However, it is going to be a very difficult (or close to impossible) for Kimi to win the championship. The reason for this is because Kimi HAS to win the next race and Michael must NOT score a single point in order to be the youngest world champion ever. My guess is that it's not going to happen (for Kimi) and that the reliability of the Ferrari this year has been very good.

Besides that, Heinz Harald Frentzen drove an excellent race and finished third. This puts Sauber ahead of BAR in the Constructors championship, thanks to Frentzen's third and Heidfeld's fifth place.

At one point, Jensen Button was looking strong for at least a podium finish and he led the race for a few laps until his Honda engine gave up on him. It was definitely a disappointing race for him to have come close to finishing on a podium and suddenly, luck ran out on him - totally.

Anyway, we'll just have to wait until the final race at Suzuka, Japan for the grand finale!
